🌿 Frequently Asked Questions
Thoughtful answers for caring dog parents
We know grooming can bring up a lot of questions — especially if your dog feels anxious or sensitive.
Below are some of the most common questions we receive. If you don’t see your question here, you’re always welcome to reach out.
-
Appointments begin with a personalized quote request. We’ll ask for a few details about your dog, including breed, size, coat type, temperament, and grooming needs. From there, we’ll help determine whether Mobile, Drop-Off, or Pickup & Return Grooming is the best fit and make sure we schedule enough time for your pup.
-
Availability can vary, so we recommend booking ahead whenever possible. Once you become a client, we encourage staying on a regular 2–12 week grooming schedule based on your dog’s individual needs. Rebooking in advance helps secure your preferred days and times and keeps your pup’s grooming routine consistent.
New clients are always welcome to reach out, and we’ll let you know our next available opening.
-
Every dog is different, but we generally recommend a consistent 2–12 week grooming schedule depending on breed, coat type, service, lifestyle, and individual needs.
Dogs with higher-maintenance coats or families who prefer shorter, easier appointments may benefit from more frequent visits, while others may do well on a longer schedule. We'll be happy to recommend a routine for your pup. description

Mobile Grooming: We bring our fully equipped grooming bus directly to your home.
Drop-Off Grooming: You bring your pup to our private St. Clair Shores location, where they're groomed one-on-one inside our grooming bus. Drop-Off Grooming is $30 less than comparable mobile pricing.
Pickup & Return Grooming: We pick your pup up, groom them at our private location, and return them home when finished. This option is the same price as Mobile Grooming.
Whichever option you choose, your dog receives the same private, one-on-one care.
-
Drop-Off Grooming is simple! Bring your pup to our private St. Clair Shores location at their scheduled appointment time. They’ll be groomed one-on-one inside our fully equipped grooming bus, just like a mobile appointment — the bus is simply parked at our home instead of yours.
Once your pup is finished, we’ll text you to let you know they’re ready for pickup.
There are no overlapping appointments, cages, or long waits, and Drop-Off Grooming is $30 less than comparable Mobile Grooming.
-
Dogs 50 lbs and over are serviced at our private St. Clair Shores location rather than through Mobile Grooming.
You can choose Drop-Off Grooming and save $30 compared with the mobile rate, or choose Pickup & Return Grooming for the same price as Mobile Grooming.
Either way, your pup receives the same private, one-on-one grooming experience.
-
Our appointments are private and one-on-one, meaning we do not overlap appointments between different households.
If you have multiple dogs in the same household, they may stay together during the appointment if they are comfortable together and benefit from having each other nearby.
We’ll always choose the setup that helps your dogs feel the safest and most comfortable.
-
Our approach is slower, quieter, and more intentional. We work at your dog’s pace, offer breaks as needed, and avoid rushed timelines. The focus is on comfort and emotional well-being, creating a positive grooming experience — not speed or volume.
-
Appointment length varies based on your dog’s size, coat, service, and individual needs. Because we groom at your dog’s pace, we don’t rush appointments or work within strict time limits. If your pup needs extra time or a break, we allow for that.
-
That’s okay! First-time grooms are approached gently and patiently, with the goal of building trust. We focus on helping your dog feel safe and supported, even if that means starting small. For puppies, we also offer Puppy Grooming designed to introduce the grooming process gradually and create positive associations from the beginning.
-
Not at all. While we specialize in dogs who need a calmer, more mindful approach, confident dogs also enjoy the benefits of one-on-one, unhurried grooming. Every appointment is tailored to the individual dog — whether they’re nervous, relaxed, or somewhere in between.
-
Often, yes. We specialize in dogs who need a calmer, more mindful grooming experience — including anxious, sensitive, or easily overwhelmed dogs. We work at your dog’s pace, offer breaks when needed, and pay close attention to their body language.
Every dog is different, so please tell us about any history of fear, reactivity, aggression, or biting when requesting a quote. This helps us determine the safest and most comfortable approach for your dog.
-
Your dog’s comfort and well-being always come first. If your dog becomes overly stressed, fearful, or unsafe to continue, we may take a break, modify the service, or stop the groom early. We never force a dog through a groom just to finish.
Stopping early is never considered a failure — protecting your dog’s trust and safety is more important than completing the service.
-
No! You do not need to be home during your dog’s appointment. We simply need a safe, pre-arranged way to access your dog when we arrive and return them safely when their groom is finished.
We’ll discuss access arrangements with you ahead of time so everything goes smoothly.
-
We’ll park as close as possible to your home, typically in your driveway or on the street nearby. We’ll confirm details with you when we arrive.
-
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, Venmo, and all major credit and debit cards.
